P1A loved our afternoon at the meadows today. We played games, had fun at the playpark, had a mini football match and ate yummy ice lollies to cool us down! We loved the opportunity to play with all our friends and be out in the sunshine!
We have been getting into the Euro spirit in primary 1A. We learned where Scotland is on the map of Europe and also marked all the different European countries that are represented in our class (although not all are competing). We have also enjoyed trying to identify the flags that Ms Anstruther put up in the corridors for us. Each class in school has a country to make a ‘Top Trumps’ style card for. We picked Scotland out of the hat, which was easy as we already know lots about Scotland! This afternoon we all sat down to watch the start of the Scotland v. Czech Republic game.
P1a and p1b have had a great time this week learning about our local community. We took a walk to look at some of the services and shops in our local area. We also made giant models of a fire station, police station and hospital, complete with emergency vehicles. We have had lots of fun playing with them.
We had a very exciting day in primary 1a today as PC Fowler came to chat to us about the role of a Police Officer. She told us about all the different parts of her uniform and we asked lots of great questions.
Her 2 colleagues also brought along a police van for us to see. We liked it when they put on the siren and lights. We drew pictures of what we thought a police officer looks like yesterday and then drew one today to show what PC Fowler actually looked like.
Not even a global pandemic could stop P1a and P1b having a fantastic time at their Christmas party . We had non-stop fun all afternoon on Tuesday. We played pin the nose on Rudolph, knock down the snowmen, snowball toss, balloon tennis and bean-bag buckets. We enjoyed our party snack and then got ready for more fun with our very own ‘Do you want to build a Snowman?’. Even the teachers got to have lots of fun testing the activities out before hand!
P1a and p1b were set a challenge today. Our teachers asked us to create our own winter village. We talked about what things we might want to include and then got to work. We made a train track, houses, trees and even Santa’s sleigh. Our teachers were so proud of how well we worked together. We shared all the resources so nicely and moved around the area really carefully so as not to knock over anyone’s creations. Mr Hunter came to see our wonderful winter wonderland when we had finished and he was so impressed too!
